Parent Help Line, St. John’s Hospital

What is the toughest job in the world? Parenting you say? There is nothing as hard or as rewarding as being a parent. The Parent Help Line is a parent support program of St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

The Parent Help Line provides free, confidential, ongoing parent support where parents can share feelings, problems and successes related to parenting. The Parent Help Line provides the tools for parents to develop a better relationship with their children, whether they are toddlers or teenagers. They support families of the LAN-15 program, which is a program that supports families dealing with problems by weekly phone calls to the families.

The Parent Help Line supports parents with a toll-free telephone line that volunteer parents listen, offer easy-to-read parenting tips, and gives phone numbers of people who can help when needed. There is a monthly newsletter of the easy-to-read, up-to-date information for parents and professionals. The Parent Help Line also has a weekly television program on Cable Access Channel 4 every Saturday at 1:00pm in the Springfield area.
